Better than fun...its awesome!
A day or two before Christmas, Tom and I had a real treat. First, Jack Frost left us a tremendously beautiful covering of crystalline ice. It covered tree limbs, and the garden art - everything. We rushed outside in our PJ's to take photos.
The next day we awoke and it had snowed the night before, leaving about six inches of the white stuff behind. As promised, we packed up the snowmobile and drove it over to Cedarburg where we took Tom's nieces and nephews for their first snowmobile ride.
They weren't sure they wanted to have anything to do with it at first... but after a few laps around the yard they couldn't get enough. It was great to spend a few hours out in the snow, playing and laughing with the kids. Just like I remember it when I was a child - the endless fun we would have while on Christmas break.
One of the girls had refrained from taking a snowmobile ride, she stood by my side as she watched her brothers and sisters take turn after turn around the field. Finally she mustered up her courage and asked to go. Tom sat her on the seat in front of him so she could help him steer the sled. They returned after taking a lap around the yard, and I asked was it fun? She responded, "That was better than fun, that was awesome!" So around they went again for several more laps.
Oh yeah... our work here is done. We've delivered the awesomeness of Christmas.

Finally - really a footnote for my Mom... a photo of the Bailey dog, enjoying a romp in the snow.
