Quotes, Gratitudes, and Goals

Day 2: What is your favorite quote and why?
I had to think about this one.  All I can remember are lines from movies that make me laugh... and offer some poignant advice.  For example a line in Ghostbusters that goes something to the tune of:  "...next time, if someone asks if you're a God, say YES!"  However there is a quote that's on my office wall at home from one of my favorite actresses which goes:  "...If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun."  - Katherine Hepburn

My other favorite quote, is an old ad campaign from Harley-Davidson.  I also have a poster of it in my office, because it really gets to the heart of how I want to live my life.

Day 3: 9 things you are grateful for in your life
  1. My sex - I like being a girl what can I say
  2. My country - I'm lucky to be living in the U.S., but no luckier than anyone living in a country the values individual freedom
  3. My parents - They were good, kind, giving, educated me, loved me
  4. My family - Without whom I wouldn't have a frame of reference for my weirdness
  5. My husband - Without whom I would probably be stuck somewhere, lost and broken down
  6. My home - I just love my little house
  7. My job - I'm glad to finally be working for someone who values me
  8. My spirit - I'm glad to have a sense of humor and a spirit that is able to soar
  9. My friendships - I'm so lucky to have friends that rub off on me in the right way
Day 4: What are 3 goals you want to achieve by the end of the year?
  1. Get in better shape - I want to be able to run longer, do those tough yoga moves, and smash a tennis ball across the net
  2. Start and finish a painting - I have a tendency to be inspired then run out of steam.  I know if I can finish one, I can keep going
  3. Stop watching so much unnecessary TV - I have my favorite shows, if I can just cut out all the other crap... I would have more time to accomplish my other two goals
