Booty kickin' crime-solvers

Day 5: What or who was your biggest inspiration while growing up?
It would definitely have to be television. Specifically shows aiming to show strong female characters.
Do you remember Charlie's Angles, and The Bionic Woman? Oh yeh, that was me. Running around solving mysteries, riding a bike like it was a motorcycle, and imagining myself kicking bad-guy booty.
At the time, the characters were so different from other shows portraying women in such limiting roles. Teacher, nun, nurse. They were women who were smart, could negotiate their way out of a tough spot, and operated independently. They inspired to be adventurous, physically active, and participate in sports that weren't normally considered "feminine". Plus they were crime solvers (just like Nancy Drew - favorite book series from childhood) and this drove me to value an analytic sensibility.
