Belated - Day 21 & 22

Blog a day

Day 21: Who is your favorite celebrity? (We all have one so don’t deny it)

Meryl Streep is my favorite celebrity.  I've enjoyed her films over the years, although I was not officially introduced to them until her role as Karen Blixen in “Out of Africa”.  Who can forget the introduction?  "...I had a farm in Africa..."

Anyway, as far as why - I admire her talent.  I'm thoroughly entertained and am never distracted by the fact that "Meryl" the person is playing "Karen" the character.  I truly believe her to be just "Karen".

I like the range of characters she's played.  I like that fact that she doesn't take herself too seriously and takes aging in stride, making fun of her own evolution. She doesn't get mired down in Hollywood scandal and finally, I envy the fact that she gets to live so many different lives through the roles she plays.  What an amazing experience it must be?

Day 22: What’s in your bag?

Isn't this question reminiscent of The Breakfast Club

Well... this season I'm carrying a delightful orange leather tote.  (Non-brand).

Inside its many organizational pockets resides:
  • Checkbook (Why?  Who writes checks anymore?)
  • Pink gel pen (favorite!)
  • Lipstick no. 1 (Rust for when I have little eye makeup on)
  • Loose change totaling $1.14
  • Small zipper pouch with Kleenex and feminine products
  • Small zipper pouch containing hairbrush, makeup, breath mints, lipstick no. 2 (pale pink for days when I have "smokey" eye makeup on)
  • Wallet no. 1 (I'm trying to downsize unsuccessfully) contains more change, receipts, membership cards (I never remember to use), a Target card, and a grocery discount card for a grocery store I don't frequent
  • Wallet no. 2 (Coach, mini clutch, pale blue) contains cash, more change, debit card, I.D., Kohls charge card, library card and lip gloss
  • Remote control to the gate at the office
  • Key to front door of office
  • Car keys (on a cool hand-made key chain)
*Items normally in bag, but not at the moment:  cell phone, reading glasses  and sunglasses.
