Just add heat and sunshine

Spring has arrived!  Yes... today was more like it.  "It" being, remembering what it's like to be carefree, in high-spirits, and happy.  The temperatures soared today to sixty-six degrees.  (Cool by some standards, but a heat-wave by Wisconsin standards.)

As I drove into town to run a few errands, I was reminded of all the signs that spring and the pending season of summer is just around the corner.  Let me show you...

First - I retracted my moon roof (or sun roof... I'm not 100% sure of the difference).

Second - The local "Brat Haus" was in full cookery mode.  There was a line of cars and people waiting to get their first taste of a charcoal-grilled "dawg".  (It was delicious by the way.)

Third - The new Museum of Wisconsin Art was open, and had a line of people waiting to get inside.  Designed by the same architect (Calatrava) as the Milwaukee Museum; this large, Parmesan cheese-wedge-shaped building stood out brilliantly against the cerulean sky.  People always seem to be inspired to visit art museums, musical concerts, and plays in warmer weather vs. entertaining themselves with TV.  (Note to self... I need to see the new Diggs.)

Fourth - Harley Riders were... well parked at their dealership!  That's one of those things I never really understood.  You buy a bike to RIDE... then ride it to the dealership, and spend the afternoon milling about in the parking lot.  Get on the darn motorcycle and get out on the road you fools!  (Sheesh)  My bike is still imprisoned in the storage shed (boo hoo)...

Fifth - Garage sale signs - everywhere!  I'm not much of a garage sale shopper; although I should be... because I need to rebuild my arsenal of metal junk to weld.  However this is something that requires some diligence and planning... and some Cojonas!  To be zipping down the highway only to have to slam on your breaks to quickly scan the yard for goodies before deciding to stop.  This means you're counting on the guy behind you NOT to rear-end you!   Forget the bumper stickers that read "Watch out for Motorcycles"... we need some that say, "Stay alert for Junkers" - ha!

Finally - Two shots I wanted include.  I snapped this one shot of the moon from Thursday night, coming out of welding class.  It was SO HUGE hanging low in the sky, and ORANGE... I couldn't stand it.  I had to jump out of my car and take a snap-shot with my camera phone.

The last shot is my token photos of my dog.  We went for a walk, and I got a great "hero" shot of him by the pond.  Yes he's on leash, but that's because there are a lot of other dogs out - it helps me to protect Bailey from his own curiosity, which has (in times past) gotten his ears nipped upon.

Here's to a beautiful spring wherever you are.
