Full Moon (Again)

I'm not certain what makes me so fascinated by the full moon.  I could be because the time of year yields a darkened sky and the brightness of the moon in high contrast is more noticeable.  However the moon has been my friend these few months... a symbol of the passage of time... or that everything is cyclical.  It's silhouette changing shape every night (ever so slightly) as it moves from full moon, to new moon, to full moon again.

Anyway, with the lack of clouds (and cold weather) I'm able to make out the distinct shadows of the craters and mountains on the moon's surface.  I'm always disappointed that my eye can see what my camera can never capture.

That same moon has been the fascination of generations of poets, artists, philosophers, scientists since... well... since man looked up into the night sky and said - ugh!  Seriously... we've all shared the same singular thought - that's it's beautiful.

Thank you moon for watching over me.
