Sun and fun along the 405

Took a week off from "reality" to enjoy time relaxing with a friend in her native state of California.  It's true what Arnold says...about California looking good on you.  How could it not.  The sunshine is different, the regional climates make it easy to find just the right weather you're looking for; and the variety of things to do to entertain yourself are endless.  It's also true... California is a happier place.  Morning hikes, friendly neighbors, beautiful plants, enchanting beaches... and lets not forget swimming pools!  Ahh...

I'm not denying they have their problems:  ownership and land disputes, gangs, teenage homeless, and prices (whew!) through the roof!  However, no matter what the grave issue you face, somehow the sun rises on another gorgeous day... and spreads a layer of resolve over everything.  They just aren't able to let things sit and fester.  It was truly a wonderful vacation with a pair of the most gracious hosts around.  I don't know if I'll ever find anything like that again.

Ah, and of course swimming pools.
