Summer on fire
We're on fire here. Weeks of drought have left our grass a yellow and brittle as a hayfield. The excessive temperatures soaring into the 90's and even above 100 degrees are like something out of a novel. I'm expecting the horse barn to catch a blaze and Paul Newman to come running from the shadows, sweaty - being chased by a band of deputies. It's been a long hot summer. Last night even the moon was on fire - glowing orange in the black of the horizon. We need rain soon though. The grass is a goner, but the farmers need a miracle to save their crops this year.
