Oh yes you Can Can

Friday came quicker this week than I had anticipated.  I guess taking an afternoon off in the middle of the week helps to break the boredom of work.  It's Bastille Days in Milwaukee - right outside my window!  My horoscope said today I needed to get up and walk away from the computer for a fresh perspective, so I wandered down for a little bit of lunch and to take in the sites.  I enjoyed music, some fried food, entered to win a Vespa, discovered a really cool craft project that I'm going to turn into gifts for friends for Christmas this year and yes... I returned with a fresh perspective and a smile on my face.

Cooking demonstration...

I loved the Can Can girls with their umbrellas... but mostly I loved the shadows the netting on their dresses were casting on the ground...

Looking West on Kilbourn Ave... a bit of haze in the air.  Later that afternoon we got RAIN!  First time in months, but not enough to provide the drench we need.

Chalk drawing... hope the rain didn't wash it away like Mary Poppins!
One of the few food vendors serving actual French food.  Loved the Wine Bottles with French flags in them.  They were serving Baguettes au fromage.

This guy is at this event every year.  I'm not 100% sure what his deal is... he's like a break-dancing tin man.  He robotically dances to hip-hop.  I guess it's better than mimes... of which I saw none.
