Left over paint creates bright welcome
Since the drought, we've not had to spend much time mowing or weeding because we've got hay for a lawn. The coir welcome mats were looking as faded as the grass, so I spent 15 minutes giving them a "make-over" with a bit of left over spray paint. Now 'Martha' will have you creating paper stencils... I started with duct-tape, but then felt confident enough to free-form with the spray can. The result? A fun and brightly color poppy "welcome" for my front door. See the stages of the result below.
See the "before" mat.
Discovered the spray can made it easy to stay within the lines.
Free formed some centers for the flowers. A modern look.
From shabby to chic in no time!
