First market ends day with roaring fire
Yesterday marked the first Farmers Market of the summer season. My sister and I are die-hardy and have been going for 10 years now. It's usually drizzling, 40 degrees, and you have a handful of sellers. This year the weather was beautiful, there was a band of young musicians playing ragtime music in the square; vendors had early crops of herbs, lettuces, onions, and radishes. Our market also has vendors who sell home-made wares like soap, wools, honey, bread etc. The "funnest" new vendor we met this year was a troupe of mushroom growers whose business is called "Fun Guys". Learn more about what I bought on the Food and Wine page. The wonderful day ended with a campfire and cookout of the delicious farmers market food... allowing Miles Davis to echo his heavenly horn into the star-speckled sky... ahhh, I love summer!
