Nasty business, nasty weather

Stormy weather has blown in both in reality and metaphorically.  I failed to yield to the captain's warning "...a bit of nasty weather blowing your way Banks!..."  In the past two weeks we've seen co-workers laid off, a complicated medical diagnosis for my husband, a friend's young child diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, an acquaintance escape with her life but barely the clothing on her back from an abusive husband, a brother-in-law accused of fraud leaving his wife to care for their six children (and no job), and a friend's mother hospitalized from a tumble down a flight of church steps - leaving her with shards of bone in her brain.  Plus temperatures and precipitation have been particularly damp and chilly outside.  Where is my sunshine, where is my warm summer breezes?  What's going on?  What will April's showers bring us?
